The HERCULANO agricultural, SA, located in one of the most important industrial areas in the North Country, about 40 km south of Porto (Oliveira de Azemeis) was established on 23 January 1969 by the Lopes family.

The origins of HERCULANO, back, however, the beginning of the twentieth century, when it began in a small workshop to manufacture small agricultural implements. The workshop has been developing in parallel with the demands of market and modernization of agriculture in 1969 until it produced the first trailer agriculture, still one of its main products.

Following this strong growth in 1982 is to first export the HERCULANO in 1986 and is officially recognized in Canada as a leader in the manufacture and marketing of agricultural semi-trailers, which keeps leading to the present day.

Originally created as a Limited Company, Limited Company began in 1992. In May 1997 the Group was acquired by HERCULANO Ferpinta. The Holding Group "FERPINTA SGPS, SA", came to hold 80% of capital at that date.

With great experience in production and marketing of steel pipe and plate in formats, the group brought to Ferpinta HERCULANO a new dynamic, not only the financial aspect, but also the strategic point of view. This is said for professionalism, quality of product, service and constant innovation.

In December 2005, continuing the consolidation of the company and the plan for expansion, "FERPINTA SGPS, SA Teixeira and Family (owner of the Group Ferpinta), began to hold 100% of the company, increasing both the capital in 2.5 million, passing the Capital of the company to 3,100,000.00 euros.

Based on synergies with other Group companies Ferpinta the HERCULANO has increased its activity in countries like France, Spain and Angola, which currently constitute the main export markets.
It was this development that allowed the HERCULANO hold, admittedly, the European leadership in the manufacture of agricultural trailers since 1986.

HERCULANO started in 2006 to an investment of over EUR 8 million in the expansion and restructuring of manufacturing facilities, which dated from decades of 70/80 and as supporting a number of constraints to the production process, not compatible with the dynamics of development in course.

Other aspects of this investment is a complete change of factory lay-outs, consistent with changes in production processes operated, allowing the flexibility and integration of new products developed since.

The HERCULANO is currently one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural equipment Iberians, with a total area of 48,000 m2 (31,000 m2 covered), employing more than 210 employees and annual invoicing of approximately EUR 15,000,000.00.
