Founded in 1941 by John Pereira, a JOPER starts its activity in Torres Vedras, the repair and manufacture of cars and agricultural manuals.
Some years later, with the onset of tractors, trailers and begins to manufacture agricultural implements, along with the manufacture of bodies for trucks.
Since then, the JOPER has increased its size, also diversifying its range of products, covering present, agricultural trailers, trailers for livestock tanks, trailer tanks for water and diesel, open ditches, scarifiers, plow winegrowers of aivecas and discs, plow, 1, 2 and 3 irons, distributors of fertilizer, crates of records, boxes of cargo, and fixed descentráveis cutters, brush cutters and shredders.
In 1968, moved to a factory with 6.000m2 of area covered and exports started in 1980, increasing to 8,000 m2 factory. Exports take a regular 4 years later, is currently exporting tools, trailers and tanks JOPER to 14 countries, divided by continents Europe, America and Africa.
In the 90's is marked by strong investments in order to have the most advanced production equipment (turning centers and CNC Machining, Welding Robot, CAD, etc..), So we can also compete with their European counterparts, or in terms of quality, both in terms of price.
In 1997, the JOPER acquired 75% of the capital of TOMIX, leader in Portugal in the manufacture of agricultural sprayers. With this investment, synergies are obtained not only at commercial and industrial, as well as administrative, which makes JOPER / TOMIX business reference both within the Iberian Peninsula, and also at the European level.
In 1999, the two companies opened a delegation north, with the aim to increase penetration in markets of North Portugal and Galicia, which was responding to strong growth, registered by both companies in recent years.
The opening of the delegation north, forms part of an investment plan that JOPER and TOMIX have been achieved in order to increase the quality of its products and its service. This investment aims to respond more quickly to the needs of our customers in terms of delivery time in terms of after-sales assistance.
Implementing further its policy of investment, modernization and quality, against the demands of the market, the JOPER, invested in new plant, with an area of 88,000 m2, of which 15,000 m2 covered. JOPER of the new facilities were opened on 05/01/2007, that investment was around EUR 7 million and reach new production equipment, such as a new line of paint and new water management schemes
For over 6 decades of existence JOPER has offered to domestic and foreign farmers, spread over several countries of the world, with the highest quality equipment so that they can thus meet their needs and making their cultures.
